My furniture designs are rooted in the craft of woodworking joinery and simplicity, which is why I gravitate towards shaker, arts & crafts, and mid-century modern forms. I never apply moldings to my furniture, but depending on the design, casework, rabbits, and other joinery to provide shadow lines and interest for the eye. I am very aware that form must follow function, furniture needs to be functional, approachable in design and use, but still pleasing to the eye. I very often expose joinery such as hand cut dovetails, through tenons, and bridle joints to provide interest for the viewer's eye. All dimensions and wood species are for pictured pieces and can be modified to fit your needs. My preferred wood species are cherry, walnut, maple, and mahogany.
